With operations in 90 countries, the Group has three core businesses: trade show organisation, venue management and event services. In 2023, GL events generated sales of €1.4 billion, 45% of which was generated outside France.

  • Its against this backdrop that were recruiting 3 future Venues managers, to work at 3 hospitality areas in Riyadh, Medina and Jeddah.

The Venue manager is responsible for :

  • The results of his establishments,
  • Drawing up a strategic plan for the site,
  • Relations with local and regional public authorities,
  • Relations with all local professional bodies,
  • the social life of the establishments,
  • Applying the general policies of the Division and the Group in the establishments,
  • Application of health and safety standards for establishments open to the public.

And ensures :

  • The smooth running of its site,
  • Compliance with internal and external regulations,
  • the social cohesion of the establishment,
  • the quality of service provided by the establishment,
  • the reputation of the establishment,
  • Disseminating the Groups communications within the establishment,
  • The participation of its employees in the Sectors business networks and functions.

Position:
  • Duties and responsibilities
  • He/she manages the site entrusted to him/her and supervises the smooth running of its operations:
  • He/she is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the smooth running of all in-house and subcontracted services used to stage events.
  • He is responsible for customer satisfaction.
  • He/she is the main point of contact for the Destinations Sales Director and Marketing and Communications Director.
  • He supervises and leads his teams within the framework of the commercial stakes of the projects.
  • He/she will represent the Managing Director of GL events Saudi Venues in the event of absence as part of the protocol for welcoming VIPs or organising clients.
  • Ensures that the company and its teams make continuous progress on the sustainable development issues defined by the Group.
  • He/she is a driving force behind proposals to develop services and organisations with a view to optimising models and developing the profitability of his/her business.
  • He/she is responsible for ensuring that the site complies with standards and regulatory procedures, both in and out of operation.

2.Economic matters :

  • It is responsible for drawing up and implementing its budget, which is submitted to the Destination Management for approval.
  • They are responsible for the establishments income and expenditure:
  • He/she is involved in the marketing and communication of his/her site and is responsible for achieving annual budgets in terms of sales and revenue.
  • Participates in the development of the pricing policy.
  • He/she is responsible for controlling the costs of his/her establishment (payroll and human resources for events and non-events, overheads, contracts, fluids, etc.).
  • He/she is responsible for controlling purchasing costs (external services).
  • He helps to determine the investments to be made, which are submitted to the Destinations General Management for approval, and whose timetable is determined in collaboration with him.
  • It organises calls for tenders or consultations with companies in conjunction with the purchasing department and monitors contracts.

3.Human resources management :

  • He manages and leads the team that assists him in carrying out his responsibilities.
  • He is responsible for the ‘Health & Safety rules for all his teams, as well as the application of these rules for the employees present on his site (subcontractors and external companies on events).
  • He carries out annual appraisals of his employees, sets them the appropriate objectives and is responsible for drawing up and monitoring the annual training plan for his site.
  • He/she is responsible for monitoring salary policy in conjunction with GL events Venues Saudi General Management and the Group HR Department.
  • He is responsible for recruiting his own personnel in accordance with his budget and Group rules.

4.For the Space Management Division :

  • Takes part in the Divisions Management Committees.
  • He/she plays an active role in the Directors network.
  • He/she is responsible for the application and implementation, on his/her site, of the actions defined in the Sectors Structuring and Development Plan.
  • He/she ensures regular and reliable reporting on the exercise of his/her responsibilities.
  • They play an active role in developing synergies with the other BUs in their Destination.
  • He/she learns from the performance of his/her responsibilities, enabling him/her to make suggestions for improving the way the Sector and its sites operate.

Requirements:

A high degree of autonomy in the organisation of his/her work, according to the priorities defined.

Knowledge and skills required

  • At least 10 years experience in directing and managing hospitality venues and supervising event marketing and production teams.
  • Financial knowledge enabling the preparation and monitoring of a budget and profit and loss account.
  • Knowledge of buildings and regulations relating to the operation of a venue.
  • Ability to draw up a sales action plan tailored to the target audience.
  • Ability to work hard and be flexible in terms of working hours.
  • Knowledge of the events industry and the establishments used to organise events (convention centres, conference centres, upmarket hotels).
  • Good knowledge of Saudi networks of influence and business circles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Perfect command of English and Arabic.

The employment contract will be full-time and local. No expatriation contract.
