WHAT TO EXPECT

As an Service Technician, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals who are willing to learn and grow along with our Local teams in Dammam KSA. Located in our Dammam, KSA office, you will be reporting into Workshop Supervisor.

As a Service Technician you will be responsible to perform technical operations required for daily functioning of the Branch including assembling / servicing/testing of Hydraulic Cylinders, hose and fittings, interacting with customers, completing associated paperwork, handling cash, making purchases and sales and inventory management as per branch requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for carrying out repairs and service jobs of very high order in workshop /Vessels/Drilling Rigs and customer job locations under the guidance of the Supervisor/Operation lead/Mangers/ Senior hands.
• To carry out overhauling and testing of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, cylinders, control valves, HPU, Actuators and other hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Carry out vessel Cranes, steering gear system, Mooring winch system refurbishments, Testing and repairs at Shipyards/Onshore and offshore.
• Carryout and monitor inspection/test of hydraulic components/systems

ABOUT YOU

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals, and documents
• Knowledge in Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, cylinders, control valves, HPU and other hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Should have five years of experience in a field service job
• Ability to carry out hydraulic components trouble shooting.
• Ability to choose correct hose, fitting and belt options based on information given by customer.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willing to stay in Company Camp Accommodation inside Jebel Ali
• ITI Vocational, Diploma or High School or equivalent.
• In addition to your normal working hours, you might be required to work Overtime as and when required by the business / workload.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Service Technician you will be responsible to perform technical operations required for daily functioning of the Branch including assembling / servicing of Hydraulic Cylinders/pump/motors, hose and fittings, interacting with customers, completing associated paperwork, handling cash, making purchases and sales and inventory management as per branch requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: List the essential functions that are core to this position and represent at least 5% of the incumbents time. Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.

• Responsible for carrying out repairs and service jobs of very high order in workshop /Vessels/Drilling Rigs and customer job locations under the guidance of the Supervisor/Operation lead/Mangers/ Senior hands.
• To carry out overhauling and testing of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, cylinders, control valves, HPU, Actuators and other hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Carry out vessel Cranes, steering gear system, Mooring winch system refurbishments, Testing and repairs at Shipyards/Onshore and offshore.
• Carryout and monitor inspection/test of hydraulic components/systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance practices on plant equipments /machinery according to the plan/schedule.
• Follow necessary work instructions, operating procedures, best practices, method statements and use proper tools and equipment for carrying out the jobs.
• Supervise and support mechanics, Asst. technicians and others involved in the jobs.
• Ensure all Testing and Monitoring Equipment / Instruments are identified and maintained in good order at all times.
• Only instruments which are calibrated as per requirements are only used in measuring and testing equipment performance.
• Report all incidents/accidents/near misses to the supervisors/safety personnel.
• Preparation of condition reports, Test reports and Job completion reports.
• Assemble hose and fittings as per customer or branch requirements and hose renewal at site, Vessels and Rigs.
• Troubleshooting of Hydraulic components.
• Responsible for Hose survey according to the requirement at Vessels/Rigs etc. and prepare hose/material list.
• Ensure that all products are serviceable (e.g., pressure test hoses) before use and that all items for sale are assembled in accordance with accepted procedures
• Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed, such as Test Reports, Condition reports, Work order, Pressure Test certificate including printing, labelling, Job completion etc. and filed
• Operate as the first line contact/salesperson for customers, interacting in a businesslike manner with them in person and on the phone
• Pressure test hose assemblies in accordance with accepted procedures
• Ensure best and safe work practices of the quality management system are followed at all times.
• Responsible to take care Projects (flushing, filtration, integrated water supply etc.) at different locations.
• Maintain the workshop, plant equipment and accessories in good order & maintenance of housekeeping at all job locations.
• Ensure workshop is kept in a clean and safe condition, and all products are kept in their appropriate place
• Recording of measurements and stock usage as the jobs are carried out
• Ensure all transactions are carried out in compliance with the applicable standards, Company Quality (ISO) procedures and provide advice to the QHSE Department of any non-conformance issues
• Comply with all occupational health, safety and environmental procedures of both the company and of client while working
• In addition, shall also support the activities of the other units whenever requested
• Other duties are associated with successful development of the unit.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Functions as an individual contributor with some supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals, and documents.
• Knowledge in Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, cylinders, control valves, HPU and other hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Knowledge on fitting sizes viz JIC, BSP, NPT etc.
• Ability to choose correct hose, fitting and belt options based on information given by customer
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Preferred to have Vocational or Technical Qualification
• Minimum Two to five years of experience in a technical field job with hands on experience.
• Commitment to continuous improvement in Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE).

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Ability to carry out the jobs individually.

• Ability to carry out hydraulic components trouble shooting.

• Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize the activities.
• Ability to make work permits, JSA and other work reqd. work permits.
• Able to use hand/power tools and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
• Good communication skills, able to converse with supervisors.
• Professionalism and ability to exercise discretion with confidential information at all times is required.
• Awareness of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards, policies and procedures.
• Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 & API Q1, 7K & 16C standards are preferable.
